Directs project support and production for assigned projects, creating drawings as required using standards and content to meet job requirements (objects within the drawing, doors, lights, etc.). Develops and maintains HVAC system models, including ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts. Coordinates with other disciplines (structural, electrical, plumbing) to ensure proper integration of HVAC systems within the overall building model. Performs clash detection and resolution using software such as Navisworks to identify and resolve conflicts between building systems. Generates accurate quantity take-offs and schedules from BIM models to support cost estimation and procurement processes. Participates in project meetings to discuss design progress, challenges, and solutions with the project team and stakeholders. Ensures compliance with building codes, energy efficiency standards, and project specifications in HVAC system designs. Maintains and updates BIM content libraries specific to HVAC components and systems. Collaborates with engineers and architects to optimize HVAC system performance and energy efficiency through iterative design processes. Prepares and presents design options and recommendations to project managers and clients. Stays current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC BIM design and implementation.
