Job Description – Medical Imaging Technologist Position Title:

Medical Imaging Technologist / Radiologic Technologist

Department:

Medical Imaging / Radiology

Reports To:

Head of Radiology / Medical Superintendent

Job Purpose:

The Medical Imaging Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using modalities such as X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and other imaging equipment. The role ensures high-quality imaging while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate medical imaging equipment (X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, etc.) to produce diagnostic images as requested by physicians.
  • Position patients correctly and explain procedures to ensure comfort and compliance.
  • Ensure radiation safety protocols are strictly followed for patients, staff, and self.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and report any technical issues or malfunctions promptly.
  • Verify patient identification and clinical information before conducting imaging procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists and physicians for accurate diagnosis.
  • Maintain proper records, documentation, and digital storage of images in PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
  • Assist in interventional imaging procedures when required.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Provide support in training junior staff, interns, or students in imaging techniques.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s / Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology / Radiology Technology (B.Sc./DMLT in Imaging).
  • Valid license/registration with relevant health authority (if applicable).
  • Strong knowledge of imaging techniques, radiation protection, and patient care.
  • Technical proficiency in operating imaging equipment and PACS.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Experience:

  • Fresher or 1–2 years of experience in a medical imaging department preferred.
  • Experience in CT/MRI/Ultrasound imaging will be an added advantage.

Work Environment:

  • Hospital / Diagnostic Center / Medical College
  • Exposure to radiation with strict adherence to safety measures.
  • Requires physical stamina for patient handling and equipment operation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
