We are looking for a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to develop and maintain analytics and reporting solutions that transform data into actionable insights. As a BI Analyst, your role is crucial in converting provided data into meaningful insights through user-friendly dashboards and reports. An ideal candidate for this position should have proficiency in Business Intelligence tools and technology, overseeing the creation and administration of BI tools with comprehensive knowledge of the BI system. This role requires a solid grasp of business concepts, strong problem-solving abilities, and previous experience in data and business analysis. Analytical skills and effective communication are highly valued attributes for this role. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: - Identifying business requirements within the context of BI and creating data models to convert raw data into relevant insights - Developing dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI - Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives and tracking them regularly - Analyzing data and presenting it in reports to support decision-making - Translating business needs into technical specifications and setting a timeframe for job completion - Creating, testing, and deploying Power BI scripts, as well as conducting efficient deep analysis - Utilizing Power BI to run DAX queries and functions - Generating charts and data documentation with explanations of algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships - Building a data warehouse and using SQL queries to optimize results - Making technological enhancements to current BI systems to enhance their performance - Using filters and visualizations for a better understanding of the data - Converting existing Non-Power BI Reports into dashboards - Experience with custom/third-party visuals Essential traits for this role include: - Minimum education requirement is a BA/BS degree in computer science or relevant field; advanced degree is a plus - Background in BI tools and systems, especially Power BI - Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with VBA, SQL, and Advanced Excel - 2-5 years of experience in Power BI, Advanced Excel, VBA, and SQL - Previous experience in data-related tasks - Understanding of the Microsoft BI Stack - Familiarity with MS SQL Server BI Stack tools and technologies such as SSRS, TSQL, Power Query, MDX, Power BI, and DAX - Exposure to implementing row-level security and bookmarks - Analytical thinking for converting data into relevant reports and graphics - Knowledge of Power BI application security layer models - Proficiency in running DAX queries on Power BI desktop - Ability to perform advanced-level computations on the dataset - Ensuring data and insights meet high-quality standards to fulfill stakeholder expectations - Active learning and complex problem-solving skills - Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and internal teams - Proven ability to take initiative and be innovative - Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications - Open to feedback and learning opportunities - Capable of working independently in a metric-driven system and collaborating with onshore teams as needed Preferred qualifications include: - Microsoft or any other BI Certified Data Analyst certification About Kroll: Kroll is a global valuation and corporate finance advisor specializing in complex valuation, disputes and investigations, M&A, restructuring, and compliance and regulatory consulting.
