Role Overview: As a CNC Operator/Machinist at HMC/VMC, you will be working under minimal supervision to set up and operate machines in skilled precision work for the fabrication and alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools, and equipment. Key Responsibilities: - Work with computer numeric controlled heavy machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic, or other materials - Operate CNC equipment to cut, grind, or drill into the material - Adjust the machine to control speed, material feed, and path of the cut, ensuring machines are set up properly and producing high-quality products - Inspect finished products to ensure they are defect-free - Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with co-workers, customers, and management - Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner - Use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements - Use precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, push and pull broaches, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment - Fabricate and shape parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal - Properly and safely select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machines - Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling - Evaluate, change, or modify setup jobs - Confer with engineers, production supervisor, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems - Utilize and abide by the ISO requirements and safety procedures - Comply with all quality, environmental, and HR policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions - Maintain daily machine and equipment cleanliness (5S) along with following preventative maintenance standards - Continue to grow lean knowledge and use tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement Qualification Required: - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, ITI, BE, or Any Equivalent Additional Details about the Company: Hillenbrand (NYSE: HI) is a global industrial company that provides highly-engineered, mission-critical processing equipment and solutions to customers in over 100 countries around the world. What You'll Do short overview: Lead the plant operations for PD products (Bussmann , MV , LV, CPC products )to deliver operations metrcis for PD products month on month and to support sales team to meet the Top line as per PP for PD products. This position will be responsible for supporting revenue of $83M in PD products Primary function: Drive continous improvement culture in PD segment with the team to continuosly upgrade the performance of the operations team to meet the high 5 metrics every month through effective use EBS tools. Build a culture of team work across all functions in the PD operations so that in addition to individual functional goal , every member works for the plant goal and also focusses actions to achive revenue numbers as per the Business PP. Review performances on intervals and mitigate action plan to meet the desired targets Support sales team to acheive Revenue target month on month through timely support of delivering various products manufactured from the plant and through imports in the PD product segment.($83M in 2024) Driving CI culture in PD operations to continuously upgrade the plant performances Meet the daily customer delivery requirements and ensure OTD is mainatined at world class standards in PD product segment Establish setting the LEAN lines for all the localisation and NPI products as per Strategic plans for PD products Drive ZISC in the PD plant with cross functional support of safety department Estimate capacity challenges based on future forecast and plan for CAPEX to equip the line for future demands Support ELSS cost out through productivity projects in shop floor Ensure Industrial harmony in the plant through trust , transparency and through actions based on incidents Driving LOPs to upgrade themselves through coaching and undergoing the required training to manage the team effectively. Drive Industry 4.0 initiatives in the PD line to become model line along with other stake holders Qualifications B.E. Minimum 20 years of experince Skills Product knowledge in Electrical products assembly Leadership qualities (should have successfully managed teams) , LEAN Knowledge , Project management skills , Knowledge in Factories act , Industry4.0 knowledge , Basic understanding of local language (Tamil)
