As a Senior Software Engineer at Verisk, you will play a crucial role in guiding junior and mid-level engineers to enhance their technical skills, career growth, and problem-solving capabilities. You will be responsible for identifying skill gaps within the team and recommending training resources to ensure engineers stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends. Promoting a collaborative team culture and ensuring smooth communication between team members and other departments will be key aspects of your role. Your responsibilities will include: - Acting as the primary point of contact for technical discussions with senior management, other engineering teams, and business units, translating complex technical topics into understandable language for non-technical stakeholders - Implementing process improvements to increase team productivity, code quality, and project delivery efficiency - Anticipating technical risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and quality - Advocating for test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and other tools to enhance release speed and quality - Participating in agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment - Providing guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale - Evaluating team performance and offering constructive feedback to maintain high levels of motivation and productivity Qualifications required for this role: - 5-7 years of Industry experience in working and building large-scale software applications - Experience in building web applications and designing/integrating RESTful APIs - Proficiency in Angular/REACT, Java Script, debugging, and optimization skills - Experience in unit/integration testing About Verisk: Verisk has been a leading data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry for over 50 years, empowering communities and businesses to make better decisions on risk.
