Job Description

The Lead Software Engineer (Java, Kotlin) at Mastercard will collaborate with a team to design new features and solutions in an evolving Enterprise environment. You will have a strong background in developing and delivering high volume web services, ensuring high quality, high performance, and highly extensible software. Your passion for the value of your designs and the journey to deliver them will drive you to be part of one of the most exciting global initiatives at Mastercard. As the Lead Software Development Engineer for the API Platform, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of technical solutions for global customers, both internal and external. You will continually ideate, scope, develop, deliver, test, and iterate features for the constantly evolving and growing API Platform. Your role will involve contributing to Mastercard Open Source projects offering API Client signing and encryption libraries. Ensuring appropriate levels of automation in various processes and liaising with global technology, data, and operations teams will be vital. As a subject matter expert for the API Platform and services, you will support customer integrations when needed. To excel in this role, you should possess strong Java and object-oriented design and development skills. Knowledge of Kotlin is a plus as it is one of the primary languages for backend services at Mastercard. Proficiency in Spring Boot, microservices, and SQL-based databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL is essential. A proven track record in API-based products, along with a focus on technical architecture and design efficiency, will be key. Experience in Agile environments with frequent production releases, as well as backgrounds in DevOps and automation, will be advantageous. Additionally, expertise in designing and delivering APIs and security models will be beneficial. Your dedication to creating highly intuitive and responsive products will drive your success in this role. All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks come with inherent risks, making information security a top priority. As a member of the team, you are expected to abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of accessed information. Reporting any suspected information security violation or breach and completing mandatory security trainings are essential responsibilities to uphold Mastercard's corporate security standards.,
