Job Description

As a Lead Software Engineer specializing in Java Backend & System Architecture at Mastercard, you will be an integral part of our global team working towards building a sustainable world that unlocks priceless possibilities for all. With connections spanning over 210 countries and territories, your role will be crucial in delivering end-to-end product development for Switching Solutions using your expertise in Event Driven Architecture. With 9-13 years of career experience in Software Engineering, you will be responsible for Full Stack Development using Microservices, Messaging/Event Driven Frameworks, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) in a Cloud Native environment such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Ensuring benchmarks are met on quality, performance, information security, and other non-functional requirements will be a key aspect of your role. Your role will also involve guiding and mentoring teams effectively, training developers on necessary technologies, and collaborating with various global groups within Mastercard to ensure project success. Leading initiatives for automation improvement, defect metrics, and overall quality enhancement will be part of your responsibilities, along with conducting Proofs-of-Concept based on technological and business needs. As a hands-on technologist with strong Object-Oriented Design skills and proficiency in Java language, you will be passionate about emerging technologies and trends, particularly in Event Driven Architecture and modern caching/persistence mechanisms. Your experience in Product Development using Digital Native Architecture, Spring Boot framework, and Cloud technology (preferably Pivotal Cloud Foundry) in an Agile (SAFe) Development Environment will be highly valuable. Your ability to analyze, conceptualize, and create cutting-edge technical solutions aligned with business requirements will be essential. Strong communication, stakeholder management skills, and the capability to guide teams on technology will be key attributes for success in this role. Working in an Agile (SAFe) environment, you will leverage your coordination and organization skills to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and vendors across locations. Moreover, as a responsible member of the Mastercard team, you will be expected to prioritize corporate security by adhering to security policies and practices, maintaining confidentiality and integrity of accessed information, reporting any security violations or breaches, and completing mandatory security trainings regularly as per Mastercard guidelines.
