Lead Scala Developer

As an engineer at the Maps team, you will be involved in developing tools to analyze, visualize, process, manage, and curate data on a large scale. Your role will be crucial in combining disparate signals such as data analytics, community engagement, and user feedback to enhance the Maps Platform. Your responsibilities will include: - Analyzing large data sets to identify errors in the map - Designing and implementing complex algorithms for issue resolution - Collaborating with a team of engineers and analysts to review solutions - Integrating resulting solutions into the data processing pipeline To excel in this role, we are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications: - 7+ years of experience in software product development for modern and scalable big data applications - Expertise in Scala functional programming at an intermediate/advanced level - Proficiency in data structures and algorithms in Scala - Familiarity with Hadoop technologies, particularly Spark for handling big data processing - Experience in implementing RESTful web services using Scala, Python, or similar languages In addition to the key qualifications, familiarity with Geo Spatial concepts is considered a plus.
