Lead Robotics Research Scientist

As a Lead Robotics Research Scientist at Wipro Innovation Network (WIN) Labs, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of robotics and embodied artificial intelligence. Your role as a visionary individual with a PhD in Robotics or a related field involves championing the development of cutting-edge technologies in autonomous systems, human-robot interaction, and machine intelligence. You will lead client-focused projects that deliver transformative impact and influence agility in intelligent automation within a vibrant research environment. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and communicate a compelling research vision and strategy aligned with Wipro's goals. - Lead collaborative projects in autonomous robotics, AI-driven perception and control, human-robot interaction, and integration of physical systems with intelligent algorithms. - Partner with clients to co-design innovative robotics solutions and translate research into commercial products. - Mentor and inspire research teams, fostering an environment of experimentation, innovation, and growth. - Produce influential research publications, secure patents, and contribute to Wipro's reputation as an industry pioneer. - Establish strategic partnerships with universities, research institutions, and industry leaders. - Represent WIN Labs at conferences and global forums as an authority in robotic sciences and embodied AI. - Promote responsible and ethical development of AI and robotics technologies. Qualifications Required: - PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on robotics or embodied intelligence. - Minimum of 5 years post-PhD experience in applied robotics research. - Expertise in leading research efforts in robotics with a strong publication record. - Proficiency in critical robotics domains such as perception, motion planning, control systems, reinforcement learning, simulation environments, and hardware-software integration. - Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills. - Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. - Experience in global, multicultural environments is advantageous. Preferred Skills: - Experience with cloud-enabled robotics platforms and edge AI integration. - Familiarity with ethical considerations in AI and robotics. - Success in technology transfer to commercial products, securing patents, and facilitating market adoption. - Advanced programming skills in Python, C++, and familiarity with robotics operating systems like ROS. - Exposure to recent advances in NVIDIA Omniverse ISAAC for simulation and robotics development.
