Lead Quality Control

Job Purpose:

The role holder is responsible for leading the Quality Control function, ensuring that all raw materials, in-process, and finished products comply with defined quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, regulatory compliance expertise, and people management skills to maintain a culture of quality and continuous improvement in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategy & Planning:

Analytical Oversight

• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant analysis of raw materials, intermediates,

Packaging Material and finished products.

• Approve and oversee analytical methods, testing protocols, and sampling procedures.
• Review and validate test results before batch release.
• Method Development & Validation
• Lead method development, method validation, and method transfer activities.
• Ensure all analytical methods meet regulatory and internal quality requirements.
• Instrument & Laboratory Management
• Supervise operation, calibration, and maintenance of analytical instruments (GC,

HPLC, IC, UPLC, K/F, AAS, UV, etc.).

• Ensure proper use of equipment, standards, and reagents for reliable analysis.
• Troubleshooting & Investigations
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Data Integrity & Documentation
• Ensure accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of analytical data.
• Maintain compliance with SOPs, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), NABL, and QMS

requirements.

• Team Guidance & Training
• Guide and train analysts on analytical techniques and best practices.
• Ensure the QC team follows proper analytical protocols and safety measures.
• Coordination & Support
• Provide analytical support to R&D, production, and regulatory teams as needed.
• Plan and prioritize analysis workload to meet production and release timelines.
• Define long-term QC strategy aligned with organizational business objectives AS per

HOD direction.

• Forecast resource requirements (manpower, instruments, lab space, consumables).

Plan and budget for analytical equipment upgradation, automation, and digital tools.

• Develop risk management and business continuity strategies for QC operations as per

HOD direction.

• Drive strategic initiatives for cost reduction, Budget preparation, operational excellence,

and customer satisfaction.

2. Process & Execution:

• Translate quality strategies into effective day-to-day operational processes.
• Ensure timely execution of sampling, testing, and reporting activities.
• Monitor adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and regulatory guidelines.
• Standardize processes to minimize variability and errors in QC operations.
• Ensure seamless execution of validation, stability studies, and method transfer

3. Compliance & Regulatory:

• Represent QC during internal, external, Customer and regulatory audits.
• Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards in the QC lab.
• Coordinate with QA, Production, R&D, and SCM for quality alignment.
• Ensure about applicable legal compliances.

4. People & Leadership:

• Build and sustain a high-performance QC team through coaching, mentoring, and
• succession planning.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Conduct performance reviews and set clear objectives for team members.
• Motivate and engage employees to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
• Ensure effective communication, conflict resolution, and team alignment with organizational values.
