Lead Product and Mechanical Design Engineer

Multi Nano Sense Technologies is a fast-growing Indian startup specializing in multi-gas sensing using patented CMOS MEMS technologies. We are expanding our Product Design Team and are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take full ownership of the mechanical design of our multi-gas sensor products. As a part of our team, you will engage with customers to understand their needs, design complete sensor systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize designs for performance and cost, and support in technical documentation and product rollout. **Responsibilities:** - Take full ownership of the mechanical design of multi-gas sensor products from concept to production - Engage with customers to understand their needs and design products with market-fit in mind - Design complete sensor systems including housings, gas flow architecture, simulation chambers, control units, and portable instruments - Collaborate with electronics, materials, and compliance teams for seamless product integration - Optimize designs for manufacture, performance, and cost under diverse environmental conditions - Conduct simulations, tolerance analysis, and failure assessments - Select materials and finishes suitable for gas sensing applications - Support regulatory documentation and drive product rollout - Assist in technical documentation and collateral creation **Requirements:** - 5-8 years of experience in mechanical/product design - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design - Member of a Formula One Student Team - Strong aesthetic sense and expertise in CAD tools - Experience with injection moulding, CNC-based metallic enclosures, and additive manufacturing - Strong grasp of DFM principles and product rollout lifecycle - Bonus skills in electronics, chemistry, sensors, and packaging **Personality Traits:** - Problem solver with a proactive mindset - Attention to detail and meticulous documentation - Takes ownership from concept to completion - Highly motivated, self-driven, and passionate about innovation - Excellent collaboration and communication skills If you are passionate about building complete products and want to work at the frontier of sensor innovation, this is an exciting opportunity to shape flagship products and contribute to the future of sensor technology in an innovative Indian startup.
