Description
As a Platform Engineer at our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and optimization of various IT platforms across the enterprise. Your role will involve collaborating with users and IT teams to design, analyze, configure, administer, and support infrastructure systems. You must bring deep technical knowledge across Microsoft, Linux/Unix, VMware, Citrix, and Cloud environments (AWS/GCP) to the table, with a focus on supporting store back-office systems integrated with Point of Sale (POS) systems. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise platform infrastructure, administering, troubleshooting, and optimizing platform environments for high availability and reliability of business-critical applications, providing end-to-end support for store systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on system architecture, integration, testing, and deployment efforts. You will also serve as a technical advisor, mentor junior engineers, contribute to standards development, conduct system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning, and lead disaster recovery planning and testing activities. To be successful in this role, you should have experience in platform engineering or infrastructure support roles, expertise in Windows and Linux/Unix system administration, strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Citrix, hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and/or GCP, an understanding of enterprise networking, storage systems, and security principles, experience with store systems or POS integration, excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
