Job Description

As an experienced and motivated pharmacist, you will be leading the delivery of Pharmacy Education and Training at the Pharmacy Department of NHS Borders. The position is full-time, with approximately 50% of your time dedicated to Education and Training, and the other 50% to clinical practice. You will have the opportunity to work in either primary or secondary care settings, depending on your experience. Part-time applications are also welcome, and hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Your key responsibility will be to support staff through the transformation of the pharmacy workforce, particularly as newly qualified pharmacists become prescribers from 2025-2026. You will play a crucial role in mentoring and supervising others, while also focusing on your own development as an autonomous practitioner. Located in the beautiful Scottish Borders region in the South East corner of Scotland, this position offers access to excellent schooling and affordable housing. The area provides a peaceful lifestyle with easy access to larger cities when needed. To explore the delights of the Scottish Borders region, you can visit www.ourscottishborders.com. It is important to note that due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check than is currently the case. If the post is deemed a "regulated role," you will need to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. Any changes to the requirements will be communicated by the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team. To work in the United Kingdom, you must demonstrate that you have the relevant permission to work in the country, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service. Pre-employment checks will be conducted to verify your entitlement to work in the UK through various routes, including specific visas or settled/pre-settled status. NHS Scotland is dedicated to promoting equality and diversity in the workforce and eliminating discrimination. Applications from all sections of society are welcomed to ensure a truly representative and inclusive environment.,
