Enveda is currently seeking a Director, Medicinal Chemistry to join our team in Hyderabad, India. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the advancement of optimized leads and clinical candidates for human clinical trials. Your responsibilities will include leading medicinal chemistry activities for multiple projects simultaneously, from identifying pre-leads to optimizing leads for potency, selectivity, and druggability. Additionally, you will be involved in strong IP generation. As the Director, you will be responsible for recruiting and mentoring synthetic chemists, managing their performance, and enhancing their productivity. Collaboration with peers in Medicinal Chemistry and other functional departments such as ADME, Analytical Sciences, and Pharmacology will be essential to delivering high-value molecules to Enveda. Reporting to the VP, Discovery Chemistry, you will work as a team to increase the delivery of compounds to the Clinical Pipeline. Your collaboration will involve various aspects of Medicinal Chemistry, including Lead Generation and Optimization, understanding Structure-Activity Relationships, and working with cross-functional teams to develop flow schemes for studies. You will also be responsible for resource allocation for cost-effectiveness and presenting your projects at Enveda forums. In addition, you will emphasize the importance of safe practices in the chemistry laboratories in coordination with the site safety head. The ideal candidate for this role will hold a Doctor of Philosophy in Synthetic Organic Chemistry with 15-20 years of post-PhD experience in Medicinal Chemistry. A proven track record of delivering leads and clinical candidates in the pharmaceutical industry, along with experience in managing and mentoring synthetic chemists, is required. An understanding of intellectual property related to valuable compounds and safety practices in organic synthesis laboratories are also key qualifications. To qualify for this role, you should possess: - A Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a related discipline. - Extensive industry experience spanning 10-13 years within Life Sciences, R&D, CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical sectors. - Profound expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and chemical biology. - Proficiency in contemporary synthetic techniques, purification methodologies, and analytical tools such as NMR, LC-MS, and HPLC. - Demonstrated achievements in lead optimization and preclinical drug discovery. - Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry standards and regulatory landscapes. - Knowledge of AI-driven drug discovery techniques would be advantageous. - Exceptional problem-solving abilities, scientific ingenuity, and a fervor for innovation. - Strong communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.,
