Roles and Responsibilities As a part of KaleidEO, you will drive critical optical and opto-mechanical design activities, actively contributing hands-on where necessary. It will be your responsibility to own and maintain image quality budgets, encompassing factors such as MTF, SNR, radiometric accuracy, and GIQE. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting launch preparations, early orbit calibration, and the verification of mission performance. Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Optical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Must haves: - A solid understanding of EO/IR performance metrics and tools, including MTF, SNR, NIIRS, and radiometric calibration. - Practical experience with optical and opto-mechanical design tools and analysis techniques. - Strong analytical skills enabling you to tackle complex technical challenges effectively. - Excellent communication and documentation skills essential for collaboration with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders. Good to haves: - Knowledge of CCD/CMOS sensor technologies and their application in space-based imaging systems. - Previous experience in developing ground-based or airborne demonstrators for optical systems. - Certifications like INCOSE CSEP or equivalent systems engineering qualifications are advantageous.
