Lead Engineer - VP

Role Overview: As a Lead Engineer - VP at Barclays, you will spearhead the evolution of the Global Platforms Services function within the Global Technology and Infrastructure Services department. Your role will involve engineering user-friendly solutions for seamless consumption of Cloud and Middleware platform offerings, focusing on self-service, automation, and integration into application build and release pipelines. You will work with a team of engineers to strategize, design, build, document, and test software components, collaborating closely with colleagues in the cloud and middleware organization. Effective stakeholder management, leadership, and decision-making are essential to support business strategy and risk management. Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical leadership to solve complex technical problems - Apply enterprise design principles to build secure, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems - Utilize Agile application development methodology and Cloud concepts, DevOps, CI/CD - Hands-on development experience in Java, Python, or other programming languages - Develop APIs using REST/SOAP and implement API security and authentication - Work with PaaS products including container orchestration utilizing platforms like Red Hat OpenShift, VMWare, AWS, Azure - Experience with IaaS and/or PaaS products, virtualization, containerization, orchestration - Deliver automation solutions and Infrastructure as Code - Demonstrate a strong work ethic, teamwork, creativity, passion, and discipline Qualifications Required: - Coding experience in GoLang, Rust, etc. - Coding experience in UI technologies like HTML, JSP, JavaScript, Angular JS, etc. - Knowledge of testing methodologies like TDD, BDD, and testing automation - Familiarity with release and change management processes (ITIL) - Proficiency in Configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform - Experience with event bus products like Kafka - Knowledge of Git (or similar) source code control systems - Understanding of build pipelines with GitLab - Familiarity with build automation and dependency management tools like Maven, Gradle - Knowledge of cloud security and network concepts The role is located in Chennai, IN.,
