Lead DevOps Architect - GEXL

Job Title: Lead DevOps Architect Location: Chennai Experience: 8+ Years Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team, ideally from a product engineering background. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Python, Linux, and DevOps practices, with a proven track record in enhancing and optimizing build processes. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, engage with various engineering teams, and lead the transition to CI/CD methodologies. Requirements: we are looking for lead devops candidate now, which means that candidate should have 1. Strong programming experience in python, linux shell scripting 2. Architecting experience in migration and modernization from on-prem to cloud 3. Ability to define new infrastructure architecture with CI/CD for linux cluster application with multiple components developed in C++, python, Java etc, across on-prem/cloud. 4.For devops can we focus on lead devops really - people with strong cloud migration/modernization experience - devops architects Key Responsibilities: Build Engineering Support: Understand and improve the existing build engineering processes at Exasol. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure seamless build operations. Process Redesign: Redesign and enhance the build process using modern tools and practices. Lead the transition of engineering teams to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with diverse engineering teams, leveraging strong technical and communication skills. Operate independently to drive process improvements and innovation. DevOps Expertise: Design and implement comprehensive DevOps solutions. Apply expertise in Linux, Python, and other scripting languages and DevOps frameworks to optimize workflows. Leadership and Team Building: In short, we are looking for an individual contributor at a senior design/architect level, capable of fully implementing solutions independently. Qualifications: Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 8 years, preferably in product engineering companies. Strong proficiency in Python and Linux. Hands-on experience with DevOps frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting languages. Experience with cloud technology is a plus (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience with OpenStack is a plus Ability to redesign and optimize build processes effectively. Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to work independently. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams without direct managerial responsibilities. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with database systems. Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
