Lead Data Scientist

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to build machine learning solutions that solve real business problems for clients across banking and financial services, retail, healthcare, and technology. You will work with data from understanding the business problem to building, testing, and deploying models, and you will explain the results to business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand business problems and turn them into data science solutions
• Build, test, and improve machine learning models (for example churn prediction, fraud detection, credit risk, forecasting, customer segmentation)
• Prepare and clean data, create features, and choose the right evaluation metrics for each problem
• Deploy models with engineering teams and monitor their performance over time
• Present results and recommendations clearly to clients and business teams
• Guide and support junior team members where needed

RequiredExperience and Skills

• 10+ years of experience, with most of it in hands-on data science (not only reporting or analytics)
• Strong hands-on experience in at least one of: classification (such as churn, fraud, credit risk, propensity), regression/forecasting, or clustering/segmentation
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, and in libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost or LightGBM
• Good understanding of statistics and model evaluation (precision, recall, F1, ROC-AUC, and handling imbalanced data)
• Ability to explain a project end to end: the problem, the data, the model, the result, and the business impact
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills

Good to Have

• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, or RAG applications
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and model deployment (MLOps)
• Domain experience in banking and financial services, retail, or healthcare
• Experience leading or mentoring a small team

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field will be preferred.

Pay: ₹3,500,000.00 - ₹4,000,000.00 per year
