Lead Data Engineer (GCP)

As a Lead Data Engineer at our company, your role is crucial in advancing data engineering practices on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) while working with cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and architectures on GCP using services like Big Query, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and develop strategic solutions addressing business needs. - Enhance existing data infrastructure for high performance, reliability, and security. - Drive integration and deployment of machine learning models and analytics solutions, including Generative AI. - Establish and enforce best practices in data governance, quality, and security. - Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster innovation and continuous improvement. - Stay updated on data engineering trends, GCP advancements, and Generative AI technologies for team innovation. Required Skills & Qualifications: - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. - 7+ to 10 years of data engineering experience, with a focus on GCP technologies. - Expertise in building data solutions using GCP services like Big Query, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer. - Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. - Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and real-time data processing. - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Leadership experience with a track record of mentoring and developing junior team members. Preferred Qualifications: - GCP Professional Data Engineer certification. - Experience with Generative AI technologies and practical applications. - Knowledge of other cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. - Experience in implementing data governance frameworks and tools.
