About the Organization

Swaniti Initiative is a social enterprise that works at the intersection of climate, governance and last mile delivery. We believe that while the will and resources exist, there are fundamental gaps in execution within communities that are the biggest crisis in the climate movement. Accordingly, Swaniti works with sub-national governments to conduct micro-planning exercises with consultations with communities and key stakeholders to understand the pathways forward, provide technical assistance to sub-national governments to provide support in program implementation and support in monitoring and delivery of programs.

Swaniti has been working across multiple geographies in the global south to unlock capital. Our three core metrics include unlocking public capital, ensuring last mile communities are directly benefited and creating systemic changes in the public service systems. While we are continuing to focus on impact, it is critical to have a lead who has a deep understanding about monitoring, evaluation and learning. Our intention is to create an institutional capability to measure and document the scale of our impact and look at how learning can be replicated across the institution.

Objectives of the program

For the last three years, Swaniti has been working in West Bengal to ensure last mile delivery of key programs across tea gardens, with the intention of building an equitable and sustainable future. The program has focused on ensuring that government programs have the strength to be able to ensure upward mobilization of underserved communities. Along with a consortium of partners, our objectives are:

• Strengthening Systems for Better Service Delivery
  
• Enhance Capacities of Service Providers for last mile delivery units.
  
• Demonstrate a Scalable Model for State-wide Implementation.

What will be your roles and responsibilities

• Lead overall grant management and coordination with the donor to ensure alignment with grant objectives, indicators, and project plans.
  
• Conduct due diligence of implementation partners and oversee coordination on budgetary and financial aspects.
  
• Coordinate with other partners as required for effective collaboration.
  
• Manage tasks assigned to district leads to ensure smooth field implementation and adherence to timelines.
  
• Oversee the quality assurance process to ensure that project outputs meet the required standards.
  
• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of project staff.
  
• Support the finance team with budget management, etc
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Master's in social science, Environmental Science, or related field with special emphasis on governance-based initiatives.

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in running programs in the field or managing operations/consulting assignments in relevant social protection programs.

• Proven track record of managing a large team, spread across multiple locations.

• Proven track record of designing and implementing governance projects, including capacity building activities, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.

• Experience working in West Bengal is considered beneficial.
