Laravel Developer

In this role as a Laravel Developer at Mangwale, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of backend services. You will collaborate closely with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver robust APIs, ensure high performance under load, and constantly refine the architecture for scalability and security. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Architecture & Development** - Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs using Laravel best practices. - Implement complex business logic, database schemas (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and caching strategies. - **Performance & Reliability** - Profile and optimize application performance under high concurrency. - Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for critical services. - **Code Quality & Collaboration** - Write clean, well-tested code (unit & integration tests). - Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers. - **Feature Delivery** - Translate product requirements into technical solutions. - Work in Agile sprints; deliver features on time, handle bug fixing and enhancements. - **DevOps & Deployment** - Assist in CI/CD pipeline setup (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar). - Collaborate on containerization (Docker) and cloud deployment (AWS/Heroku). **Required Qualifications:** - **Experience:** - 3+ years of hands-on Laravel development in production environments. - Proven track record of shipping scalable, secure web applications. - **Technical Skills:** - Expert in PHP 7.x/8.x and Laravel (5.x-10.x). - Strong SQL skills; experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL. - Familiarity with RESTful API design, authentication (OAuth2, JWT). - **Availability:** - Must be able to start immediately and commit to an onsite schedule. - **Workflow & Tools:** - Proficient with Git (branching strategies, pull requests). - Comfortable with Agile/Scrum methodologies. - **Soft Skills:** - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. **Preferred (Nice-to-Have):** - Flutter: Experience building or integrating Flutter mobile apps with Laravel backends. - Frontend Basics: Knowledge of Vue.js, React, or Angular. - Message Queues: Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS. - Testing & QA: Familiarity with PHPUnit, Mockery, or Dusk. - Infrastructure: Basic understanding of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
