As a Gensler Technical Designer, you will leverage your creativity to contribute to the design of unique environments, offering exemplary design knowledge throughout the entire project lifecycle. You will be involved in various design stages, working collaboratively with the team to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. You will be responsible for participating in all project phases, including programming, conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and production. Collaboration with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, and vendors will be essential to meet project objectives. You will produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, plans, elevations, details, and sections, progressing to detailed construction drawings. Effective communication of design concepts through hand rendering techniques will be a key aspect of your role. Supporting project sustainability targets and engaging in sustainable design strategies at every project stage will be crucial. You will work with the team to optimize sustainability performance through design iterations and research. Additionally, you will be involved in climate-focused analysis and studies for each project. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent, along with 3-5 years of related work experience. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, outstanding presentation and communication abilities, and a strong creative and technical portfolio are required. Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling software like Revit or Rhino, as well as Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp, is essential. Accreditation in sustainability rating systems like LEED, WELL, Fitwel, LFA is preferable. A collaborative approach towards achieving high sustainability project goals and a motivation to enhance knowledge and experience in sustainability are also sought after qualities.
