You will be responsible for managing automation projects activities assigned as new or operational enhancement initiatives in R&D functional areas. Your tasks will include contributing to designing, implementing, configuring & testing automation systems, applications & tools, instruments and device interfacing architectures. Additionally, you will be developing project proposals, detailed design specifications, operations & control philosophy, technical recommendations, user and training manuals. You will also contribute to validations & certifications during factory acceptance & site acceptance testing for automation systems and integration packages, and coordinate with basic & detailed engineering partners during project designing and execution stages. Troubleshooting user issues related to data acquisition, tag configuration, historian management, custom definitions, query management, and alert monitoring will be part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to monitor performance and conduct periodic auditing to ensure uptime availability and improve the effectiveness of the implemented automation system. Reviewing & updating SOPs, SMPs, procedures, and guidelines documentation will also be essential. Conducting user awareness & trainings to increase adoption and system usage, ensuring periodic back-ups of process data, databases & system configurations, as well as monitoring & auditing compliance with site HSE procedures/practices and Information security requirements are also key tasks. You should hold a B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, Biotechnology from a reputed institute. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of experience as laboratory informatics, data engineer, database administrator, application developer, managing scientific tools, applications & analytical lab instrument data management, and 3-4 years of experience as a research data scientist, data engineer managing systems and application development in a scientific or research organization. Skills and competencies required for this role include an aptitude towards information, communication and network technology to design, build and maintain automation systems, applications & interfaces. In-depth knowledge of Laboratory informatics, SQL, and scientific databases is essential. Proficiency in Computer Science fundamentals and general-purpose programming languages is a must. You should be able to design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and industry practices. Building high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts, researching opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data, developing data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production, integrating new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures, creating custom software components and analytics applications by employing a variety of languages & tools, having working knowledge of Data warehousing and application of various ETL tools, applying machine learning algorithms and libraries, recommending ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality, collaborating with data architects, data scientists, and analysts on project goals, having strong analytical skills, being a self-starter with a passion for excellence, applying innovative ideas in problem-solving with reasoning skills, having an aptitude to understand diverse functional domains for relevant projects, and being a team player with strong coordination and communication skills.
