Role & responsibilities 1.Vendor Management & Procurement: Float inquiries, negotiate pricing, and obtain competitive quotations from vendors. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines. Identify new vendors and conduct vendor audits to ensure compliance. 2.Purchase Order Management: Review and process purchase orders against approved purchase indents. Obtain price approvals from management and share finalized purchase orders with vendors. Track and ensure timely delivery of ordered packaging materials. 3.Inventory & Reordering: Monitor inventory levels and establish reordering points for packing materials. Work with PPIC (Production Planning & Inventory Control) to prevent shortages or overstocking. Optimize stock levels to minimize waste and ensure smooth production. 4.Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with production, quality assurance (QA), regulatory, and packaging development (PMD) teams. Ensure packaging materials meet quality standards and regulatory compliance. 5.Issue Resolution & Process Improvement: Address quality-related concerns with suppliers and internal teams. Stay updated on industry trends and suggest improvements in procurement strategies. 6.Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain purchase records, vendor lists, contracts, and price agreements. Ensure documentation meets audit and regulatory requirements. Key Skills & Competencies: 1.Technical & Functional Knowledge: Strong understanding of primary, secondary, and tertiary pharmaceutical packaging materials. Knowledge of measuring units for different packing materials 2. Artwork & Design Understanding: Familiarity with artworks, design mockups, and approval processes from internal and external stakeholders. Understanding of regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical packaging. 3.Printing & Material Knowledge: Knowledge of various printing methods (offset, digital, flexography, screen printing). Understanding digital printing aspects, color schemes, and color matching. Familiarity with packaging materials such as paper, foils, poly laminated films, HDPE bottles, closures, containers, and corrugated boxes. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Packaging Material Development / Packaging Technology is preferred.
