Lab Technician(Road Work)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Laboratory Technician to perform a variety of materials testing for road construction projects. The technician will be responsible for conducting laboratory and on-site tests on soil, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete to ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and prepare samples of soil, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials for testing.
• Perform standard laboratory tests including:
• Sieve analysis
• Proctor compaction test
• Atterberg limits
• CBR (California Bearing Ratio)
• Specific gravity and water absorption
• Bitumen content and gradation analysis
• Marshall Stability test
• Slump test and concrete cube/cylinder testing
• Record and maintain accurate data and test results in laboratory logs and reports.
• Ensure that all equipment is calibrated and maintained properly.
• Assist in field testing activities, including compaction tests (field density test using Sand Cone / Nuclear Gauge), core cutting, and sampling.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards as per project requirements and relevant codes (MoRTH, ASTM, AASHTO, IS standards).
• Report any deviation from quality specifications to the site engineer or quality control manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma / ITI in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a road construction testing laboratory.
• Strong understanding of construction materials testing methods and procedures.
• Familiar with testing standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, IS, and MoRTH specifications.
• Basic computer skills to enter test data and generate reports.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physical ability to work in both lab and field environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
