Lab Technician-Blood Storage

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To check samples and requisition form with patient name, MRN, Hb status, diagnosis, date and time of requisition sent.

· To perform Blood grouping of patient, cross match with blood bag of same blood group.

· As issue note is received in Storage, issue the components within turnaround time.

· Performing quality control and maintain records.

· Proper storage of blood , preparation of components & storage.

· Record the temperature of specific refrigerator by data logger.

· To maintain cold chain of blood bags by putting data logger in transportation bag.

· Dispatching blood & blood products in the required turn around time.

· To collect Blood transfusion feedback from the wards, analyses and maintain record.

· To analyze the transfusion reaction records and takes appropriate corrective and preventive action if required and maintain record of the same.

· To keep records of blood bag issue details.

· To checked the bill of mother blood bank with procurement letters sent to mother blood bank.

· Participating actively in all educational & training activities.

· To ensure laboratory safety including infection control practices and BMW management.

· To maintain correct quality indicator and send monthly to Quality dept.

· As and when required by the immediate seniors of the organization your duty hours should be flexible.

· If situation demands, multitasking of responsibilities and shuffling to another department in your profile can be anticipated.

· Any other task assigned to you time to time by the management.
