Lab Network Engineer

As a Lab Network Engineer at UST, you will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure within a lab environment. Your primary focus will be to ensure optimal performance and connectivity for testing and development purposes by collaborating closely with engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: - Network Design and Implementation: - Architect and deploy lab networks with specific configurations to meet testing requirements. - Select and install appropriate network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) for lab environments. - Configure network protocols (IP addressing, routing protocols, VLANs) to facilitate testing and isolation. - Troubleshooting and Maintenance: - Identify and resolve network issues within the lab environment. - Monitor network performance and proactively address potential bottlenecks. - Perform network upgrades and patching to maintain compatibility and security. - Collaboration with Engineering Teams: - Work closely with development teams to understand testing needs and translate them into network configurations. - Provide technical support and expertise on network issues encountered during testing. - Contribute to the design and development of new test methodologies related to network functionality. - Security and Compliance: - Implement security measures on lab networks to protect sensitive data. - Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations. - Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain detailed documentation of lab network configurations and troubleshooting procedures. - Generate reports on network performance and identify areas for improvement. Qualifications Required: - Deep understanding of network protocols with extensive knowledge of DC switching, Arista, PaloAlto, Console Servers/KVMs/PDUs, Cabling, Ansible. - Familiarity with SonicOS and Azure Network is preferable. - Hands-on experience with configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches from various vendors. - Automation and scripting skills in Python. - Strong problem-solving abilities and collaboration skills. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, or equivalent experience. - Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant field with experience in Troubleshooting and Maintenance.
