Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Lab Manager to lead and oversee all operations of our construction materials testing laboratory. The Lab Manager will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring testing accuracy, maintaining equipment and standards, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil/materials engineering and proven experience in a construction materials testing environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily lab activities including material testing (e.g., concrete, cement, soil, aggregates, steel, asphalt). Ensure all testing is conducted as per national and international standards (e.g., IS, ASTM, BS). Maintain proper documentation, test records, and calibration logs. Ensure lab accreditation and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., NABL, ISO/IEC 17025). Review and approve test reports before submission to clients. Supervise lab technicians, assistants, and field testing staff. Provide training and guidance on testing procedures, safety, and equipment handling. Schedule workload to ensure timely completion of testing activities. This Role would ensure the products are tested as per standards/ WI, Supervise the staff, adhere to sequence of tests, analyze the results, as well as identifying the issues if any Make Validation protocols w.r.t equipment WI, SOPs, Test plans & procedures as per BIS/ internal test standards across all product categories. Compile and approve the test results basis acceptance/ rejection criteria and report to immediate senior. Keep end to end track (from receipt to disposition) of products being shortlisted for validation, ensure adherence to proper sequence of testing, keep records. Develop & Execute test plans as per standards. Study the data gathered during testing and evaluate. Identify issues if any during validations and analyze the same. Provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness of validation lab by keeping in touch with the standards ( modifications / updation, etc.) and propose latest equipment/ instruments, etc. Report test results and conformance/ non conformance to stakeholders. Provide training and support to testing teams to optimize the usage of equipments, instruments and processes. Experience Required 15-20 years of experience in Testing, Validation as per BIS/ BEE standards especially in consumer durable industry. Strong knowledge of National as well as international standards Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Good communication and project management skills.
