Position Overview

The Lab Assistant will support the faculty and students of the Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Department by managing laboratory operations, maintaining computing resources, assisting in practical sessions, and ensuring smooth functioning of lab-related academic activities. The role demands technical expertise, organizational ability, and a commitment to maintaining a conducive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Laboratory Management
• Prepare computer labs before each session by ensuring that systems, software, and equipment are functional.
• Maintain lab cleanliness, orderliness, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating lab sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Technical Support
• Install, configure, and update operating systems, programming environments, and specialized software (e.g., Python, Java, C++, MATLAB, R, databases, machine learning tools).
• Troubleshoot hardware, networking, and software issues during lab sessions.
• Support faculty in conducting lab-based assessments, tests, and project demonstrations.
• Student & Faculty Assistance
• Guide students in using lab equipment, compilers, IDEs, and software tools effectively.
• Provide support during coding labs, hardware interfacing labs, and research-related computational activities.
• Assist faculty with preparation of lab manuals, experiments, and demonstrations.
• Inventory & Maintenance
• Maintain an updated inventory of lab equipment, systems, and software licenses.
• Coordinate with IT/Facility teams for hardware servicing, replacements, and upgrades.
• Ensure timely procurement of lab consumables, accessories, and licenses.
• Academic & Research Support
• Assist in setting up labs for advanced areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and IoT.
• Provide technical support for student projects, hackathons, and departmental events.
• Collaborate with faculty on lab-related research experiments when required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
