As a member of the culinary team at Le Mridien Nagpur, you will play a crucial role in the food preparation process. Your responsibilities will include preparing ingredients for cooking by portioning, chopping, and storing food. You will be required to pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or your own judgment. Additionally, you will prepare and cook food according to specified recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists. While in the kitchen, it will be your duty to monitor food quality during the preparation process and test foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently. This may involve using various methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing with utensils. Maintaining proper portion control, arranging food aesthetically, and adding appropriate garnishes are essential aspects of your role. You will also be responsible for serving food in the correct portions and on suitable receptacles. Safety and cleanliness are paramount in our kitchen. You must use kitchen tools safely and correctly, as well as wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Ensuring that appliances and food are at the correct temperature is vital. If you encounter a product that does not meet specifications, you should promptly notify your manager. During busy periods, effective communication and teamwork are crucial to ensure smooth operations. Adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and procedures is mandatory. You should report any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to your manager. Completing safety training and certifications is also part of your responsibilities. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards, and communicating clearly and professionally are expected behaviors. In terms of qualifications, we seek individuals with a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Previous related work experience of at least one year is preferred.
