As an Accessibility Tester at Birlasoft, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that websites, web-based applications, and mobile applications are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. With 3-5 years of experience in accessibility testing, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments to ensure compliance with ADA regulations and WCAG 2.0, 2.1/2.2 guidelines. Your role will involve testing websites and web applications across various operating systems and devices, documenting accessibility issues, and providing valuable insights for fixes. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including development and business analysis teams, to implement necessary changes and improve accessibility standards. In addition to your expertise in accessibility testing, you should have a strong understanding of testing methodologies and the ability to work independently to understand business requirements. Proficiency in Azure DevOps for test case management and reporting is preferred, along with experience in project planning, defect triaging, and stakeholder communication. Your primary skills should include excellent communication abilities, basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript, and hands-on experience with tools like contrast checker, JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver for color contrast, keyboard, browser zooming, and screen reader testing. You must also possess a deep understanding of WCAG guidelines, section 508 requirements, and accessibility testing on various devices and platforms. While certifications in accessibility testing are not mandatory, they are a plus. Experience with tools like JAWS, Axe, and ANDI will be beneficial in your role. A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree is required for this position.
