About the Role: As a Senior Software Engineer at KarmaSuite, you will work closely with the co-founders and directly with customers to both identify and build new improvements, features, and initiatives. You will be responsible for transforming product requirements into visual components and backend functionalities, meticulously implementing business logic, and rigorously testing changes to ensure top-notch quality. Following light Agile practices, you will be your own project manager - break down tasks into outcome-oriented tickets, estimate work, and organize tasks into 1-week sprints. Proactive problem-solving, collaboration with the team, and a strong sense of ownership are essential to the role. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and test software based on the defined project requirements - Gather feedback from customers on project requirements and newly shipped projects - Translate Figma designs into functional React components - Implement backend functionalities using TypeScript and PostgreSQL - Breakdown tasks into well-defined tickets and estimate ticket sizes - Participate in sprint planning and reviews - Collaborate with the team to solve problems and enhance product quality Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a top-ranking university - At least 5 years of professional software development experience - Proficient in TypeScript, React, and Next.js - Moderate experience in tRPC and PostgreSQL - Strong problem-solving skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Available for at least 5 hours overlapping with the PST timezone (for example, 9 pm-1am IST) Preferred Qualifications: - Prior experience in the fintech, accounting, or nonprofit sector - Familiarity with Agile development methodologies - Experience using communication tools such as Slack and Zoom The application process will involve a resume screening, two technical interviews, and one behavioral interview.
