Job Title: AutoCAD Drafter / Designer – Solar & Construction Department: Engineering / Design Employment Type: Full-time Experience Required: 2–6 years (experience in solar and construction drafting preferred) Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter/Designer with experience in the solar energy and construction industries to create, modify, and optimize technical drawings and plans. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver accurate and comprehensive CAD drawings for solar panel installations, construction projects, and related infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: 1. Drafting & Design Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for solar installations including site layouts, electrical wiring diagrams, and mechanical components. Create construction drawings such as foundation plans, structural details, and architectural plans. Translate rough sketches, technical specifications, and verbal instructions into precise technical drawings. 2. Collaboration & Coordination Work with engineers, architects, project managers, and surveyors to gather project requirements and update designs accordingly. Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure drawings meet practical and regulatory standards. Assist in reviewing designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with building codes and industry standards. 3. Documentation & Revisions Maintain and update CAD libraries with standardized symbols, blocks, and templates. Revise drawings based on feedback, site inspections, or design changes. Prepare bill of materials (BOM), parts lists, and other technical documentation related to drawings. 4. Quality Control & Compliance Ensure all drawings comply with relevant local, national, and international standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, ASTM). Conduct quality checks to minimize errors and ensure drawings are production-ready. Assist in obtaining necessary permits by providing required technical documentation. 5. Software & Technology Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, or similar CAD software for drawing and modeling. Employ other design tools or project management software as needed. Required Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or related field. 2–6 years of professional experience as an AutoCAD drafter/designer, preferably in solar energy and construction projects. Strong knowledge of solar power systems (PV panels, inverters, mounting structures) and construction practices. Familiarity with electrical schematics, structural detailing, and site planning.
