Job Title: SCM Manager Experience Required: 10-12 Years (should be from Transformer Industry Background ) Salary: 15-18 LPA Work Location: Dabaspet, Bangalore. Position Overview: The Purchase Manager will oversee the procurement process for all materials, components, and services required for transformer production. This role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, cost control, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules. Key Responsibilities: a) Strategic Sourcing and Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet production requirements and optimize cost efficiency. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements. b) Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing. Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with company standards. c) Cost Management: Analyze market trends and pricing to forecast future procurement needs and control costs. Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies without compromising quality. Prepare and manage budgets for procurement activities. d) Inventory and Logistics: Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely availability of materials and components. Oversee inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory. Manage logistics and transportation to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of materials. e) Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements. Prepare reports and analysis on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance. f) Budgeting and team management: Manage purchase budgets, track expenses and forecast future needs Lead and train purchase team and ensure efficient workflow Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in SCM, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification is a plus. Proven experience (8+ years) in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on transformers or related components. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Compliance The desired candidate is expected to comply with all applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) laws, regulations, and industry best practices. They should support the implementation and maintenance of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. The candidate must contribute to preventing pollution, minimizing resource usage, and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. Timely reporting of any EHS-related incidents and active participation in audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives is required as part of the organization's commitment to safety and sustainability
