Job Title: Manager Mechanical (Ore Handling Plant) Department: Mechanical Industry: Mining (Iron Ore) Experience Required: Minimum 7 years in Ore Handling Plant operations Job Purpose: To lead and supervise the erection, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems in the Ore Handling Plant (OHP), crushing & screening plant and associated Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) used in iron ore mining operations. The role involves ensuring high equipment reliability, safe operation and efficiency in material handling from excavation to dispatch. Key Responsibilities: Erection & Commissioning: Supervise installation, alignment, and commissioning of crushers, conveyors, screens, stacker reclaimers, and other OHP equipment. Coordinate with project, design, and vendor teams to ensure adherence to quality, timelines, and safety standards. Support project planning and mechanical system integration during the construction phase. Operation & Maintenance (O&M): Oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of OHP mechanical systems and HEMM such as excavators, dumpers, dozers, wheel loaders, and graders. Implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance. Monitor critical spares, lubrication systems, and maintenance cost control. Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM): Ensure effective upkeep and maintenance of mining machinery used for iron ore excavation and transportation. Conduct technical analysis of equipment performance and coordinate major overhauls or repairs. Maintain liaison with OEMs for service support, spare part procurement and warranty claims. Technical & Process Optimization: Identify root causes of mechanical failures and develop corrective action plans. Recommend modifications and improvements in mechanical systems for process optimization. Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory norms. Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead a team of engineers, supervisors and technicians for both OHP and HEMM maintenance. Coordinate with production, electrical and mine operation teams for uninterrupted ore flow. Promote safety culture through regular training and awareness programs. Desired Candidate Profile: Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering Experience: Minimum 07 years in mechanical maintenance, erection, and operation in the mining industry. Hands-on experience in Crushing & Screening Plant with Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) maintenance. Proven track record in iron ore excavation and bulk material handling. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of OHP and heavy equipment maintenance practices. Expertise in maintenance planning, root cause analysis and cost optimization. Excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills.
Budgeting & Monitoring Engineer 1. Budgeting Responsibilities Cost estimation for mining operations like exploration, drilling, blasting, hauling, processing, rehabilitation, etc. Preparing capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) budgets monthly and FY. Working with the Project, procurement, finance, and operations teams to align budget allocations. Conducting cost analyses for new projects or equipment purchases. Monitoring actual costs against budget and identifying variances. Supporting financial forecasting and long-term financial planning. 2. Planning Responsibilities Developing Production Plan (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly). Coordinating with geologists, mining engineers, and operations to plan production targets. Creating project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project). Planning for equipment usage, manpower, and other resources. Identifying potential bottlenecks and risks in project execution. Incorporating safety and environmental regulations into project plans. 3. Monitoring & Control Responsibilities Tracking the progress of mining projects against schedules and budgets. Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production, cost, and resource utilisation. Participating in project review meetings with management and technical teams. Monitoring contractor performance and compliance. Implementing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess project performance. Ensuring data accuracy and integrity in reporting systems. Reports preparation for the review meeting of Projects 4. Coordination & Communication Liaising between planning, operations, finance, and procurement departments. Communicating financial and scheduling issues to project stakeholders. Supporting decision-making with data-driven insights. 5. Software and Tools Proficient in software such as: Primavera P6, Microsoft Project (for scheduling) SAP, ERP systems, or cost control software AutoCAD, Surpac, or other mine planning tools (optional but beneficial) MS Excel, PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting 6.
