As a Kafka SME in Observability Backend team, you expected to:
Be responsible to dene/improve the monitoring and alerting rules for Kafka clusters.
Own (plan, dene requirements, supervise and implement) Kafka clusters migration from on-perm DC's to AWS.
Design and implement Kafka stress-tests to measure the performance limits.
Suggest the improvements of the cluster's topology to increase the performance limits.
Mitigate issues with Kafka's functioning, implement the preventive measures (own Post-mortem's and improvements tasks).
Analyse Kafka performance, identify the deviations from usual patterns and dene, document, and implement corrective actions.
Be responsible for the Kafka's SLA (99.9% availability) fulfilment.
As a member of Observability Backend team, you expected to:
Participate in the on call rotation for services provided by the team. To do so you will need to be able to mitigate (by using the runbooks) issues with:
