We are seeking an Accounts Executive - Direct & Indirect Tax to join our Finance team. This role involves ensuring compliance with both direct and indirect tax obligations. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, reconciliation of tax payments, managing tax documentation, supporting audits, and staying updated on tax regulations. This position will require collaboration with senior management and external tax consultants to ensure compliance with tax laws, including Income Tax, GST, and other applicable tax provisions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Direct Tax Compliance & Filing: Prepare and file Income Tax Returns (ITR) and Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) returns in compliance with statutory deadlines. Ensure timely and accurate tax payments, including advance tax , self-assessment tax , and other direct tax liabilities. Maintain TDS records and ensure TDS certificates (Form 16, Form 16A) are properly issued and filed. 2. Indirect Tax Compliance & Filing: Assist in the preparation and filing of Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns, including GSTR-1 , GSTR-3B , GSTR-9 , etc. Ensure GST payments are made on time, and that Input Tax Credit (ITC) is accurately claimed and reconciled. Monitor and report on indirect tax changes, including updates on GST rates and regulations. 3. Tax Reconciliation: Reconcile tax-related balances in the general ledger for both direct and indirect taxes. Ensure accuracy in accounting for both direct and indirect tax payments, recoveries, and claims. 4. Tax Documentation & Records: Maintain comprehensive records for all direct and indirect tax-related filings, payments, and supporting documents. Ensure proper documentation for GST invoices, bills, payment receipts, and related records. Keep track of notices, assessments, and correspondence with tax authorities. 5. Tax Audits & Assessments: Support internal and external auditors during tax audits and assessments by providing accurate documentation. Respond to queries from tax authorities, prepare explanations, and ensure compliance with audit requirements. Qualifications and Requirements: Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance , Commerce , or a related field. CA (Inter) , CMA (Inter) , or pursuing CA certification is preferred, but not mandatory. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in direct and indirect tax compliance or related fields. Hands-on experience in GST filing , TDS compliance , and Income Tax return preparation . Knowledge of various GST provisions , including ITC , GST reconciliation , and GST audit . Skills: In-depth knowledge of Income Tax Act , GST Law , and TDS provisions . Proficiency in tax software, MS Excel, and accounting tools such as SAP , Tally , or similar platforms. Strong analytical skills , with an ability to solve tax-related queries. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Strong problem-solving and research skills to handle complex tax issues. The candidate will be responsible for independently handling statutory audits of listed and unlisted companies across various industries. This role involves managing audit teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end statutory audits in accordance with applicable audit standards (ICAI, IND AS, IFRS). Plan, execute, and finalize audit assignments for clients in various sectors (manufacturing, services, trading, NBFCs, etc.). Supervise and review the work of junior audit staff and article trainees. Conduct risk assessments and develop audit strategies accordingly. Ensure timely completion of audits, with proper documentation and working papers. Review and finalize financial statements and audit reports. Communicate audit findings and recommendations effectively to clients. Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, Accounting Standards, and other regulatory requirements. Stay updated on changes in accounting, auditing, and statutory requirements.
