The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong background and proven experience in executing various areas related to Guidewire PolicyCenter development. It is essential to possess knowledge of the P&C Insurance domain, including Policy, Claims, and Billing applications in alignment with product requirements. Successful candidates will be adept at designing, developing, modifying, and deploying software while adhering to object-oriented programming concepts and utilizing design standards and best practices. The responsibilities of this role include planning, designing, developing, modifying, testing, debugging, and maintaining GOSU language application code within Guidewire Policy Center. This also involves configuring screen layouts, including the creation of new screens (PCFs), as well as setting up operational and administration-related parameters such as roles and permissions, user attributes regions, and activity patterns. The candidate will work within the realm of Software Engineering, focusing on the development, maintenance, and optimization of software solutions and applications. The successful applicant will apply scientific methods to analyze and resolve software engineering problems. They will be accountable for developing and applying software engineering practices and knowledge in research, design, development, and maintenance. This role requires independent thinking, judgment, and the ability to oversee the technical and administrative work of other software engineers. The candidate is expected to enhance their skills and expertise in the software engineering discipline to meet standard expectations for the applicable role, as defined in Professional Communities. Collaboration and teamwork with other software engineers and stakeholders are crucial aspects of this position. In addition to the general responsibilities outlined above, the candidate will also be involved in resolving issues identified during testing of the configuration requirements, organizing code merges, and managing environment management tasks. They will undertake Guidewire software upgrades, develop GUnit/Junit tests for testing business logic, manage projects, programs, and teams of various sizes, and architect and create solution designs. The candidate should be proficient in presenting solution architecture with various options and estimates, assisting in GOSU code reviews, code cleanups, and performing sprint demos. Preferred technologies for this role include HTML, CSS, React.js, Guidewire Portal, Edge Framework, Jutro Framework, GOSU, and API. Certification in Guidewire PolicyCenter and strong verbal communication skills are highly desirable for this position.,
