You have an exciting opportunity to join as a Network Engineer in the GNOC department of OCI's Physical Networking team. With 3-5 years of experience, you will play a crucial role in managing large data centers at L2 level within a GNOC environment. To excel in this role, you should have prior experience in a large ISP or cloud provider environment. Your expertise with networking vendors such as Juniper, Arista, and Cisco on routers & switches will be essential. Proficiency in Spine leaf, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and port channel configurations is a must. Your skill set should also include exposure to commodity Ethernet hardware (Broadcom/Mellanox), along with protocol knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, and MPLS. Familiarity with networking protocols like TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and SSL will be advantageous. It would be beneficial if you have experience in Automation tools like Python, Puppet, and/or Ansible, as well as familiarity with the Jira tool. Your responsibilities will involve handling incident, change, and service request tasks efficiently. Experience with RCA and RMA processes, as well as contributing to Major incident calls for Sev1 and Sev2 incidents, is highly desired. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration within the team. Possessing Cisco and Juniper certifications would be an added advantage for this role. Network Operations Engineer Oracle

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying actionable incidents using a monitoring system and applying strong analytical problem-solving skills to mitigate network events and incidents. You will follow up on routine root cause analysis (RCA), coordinate with support teams and vendors, and participate in major events/incidents calls to resolve network issues affecting Oracle customers/services. Additionally, you will coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and provide RCA. Your duties will also involve fault handling and escalation, which includes identifying and responding to faults on OCI's systems and networks, liaising with third-party suppliers, and managing escalations through to resolution. You will develop knowledge and skills in network and system administration, focusing on OCIs architecture and platforms. Automation will be a key aspect of your role, as you will leverage it to execute work and develop scripts for routine tasks. Furthermore, you will be responsible for executing network changes following Oracle's defined change management process, maintaining records of equipment failure, and collaborating with engineers and suppliers as needed. Contributing to team documentation, such as runbooks, operations guides, and technical documentation, and assisting in the onboarding of new team members will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will assist in implementing short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve project objectives and interact regularly with senior management or network leadership to ensure team goals are met. You will work with the OCI Global Network Operations team, supporting the network infrastructure environment worldwide. The position requires working with a world-class team distributed globally and contributing to the management and operations of a large-scale global Oracle cloud computing environment (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - OCI). Your primary focus will be on designing, deploying, and supporting network fabric and systems through a combination of networking expertise at the protocol level and programming skills for automation in a production environment. Your responsibilities will also include participating in network lifecycle management, network build and upgrade projects, executing network changes, attending project and sprint planning meetings, developing runbooks and procedures, onboarding new team members, providing feedback on network solution designs, participating in operational rotations, and providing break-fix support for events. You will be expected to triage event tickets, support root cause analysis, leverage automation for critical tasks, and have experience in scripting and network automation using tools like Python, Puppet, and Ansible. Ideally, you should have a bachelor's degree with 3 to 5+ years of network-related experience, preferably in a large ISP or cloud provider environment. Experience with networking protocols, hardware, and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, Juniper, Cisco, Arista switches, and monitoring tools is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills, communication abilities, incident response experience, time management, and organizational skills are essential for this role.
