Junior Consultant Pediatrics & Neonatology

As a Registrar in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at our facility located in Sector 44C, Chandigarh, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to all babies admitted to the NICU. Your duties will include attending daily rounds, following the daily plan, preparing admission and discharge summaries, and ensuring clear documentation and communication practices are maintained. In the NICU, you will be expected to perform procedures under supervision or independently as appropriate. This includes but is not limited to attending deliveries, admitting babies for supervision and observation, completing all necessary documentations, and participating in newborn screening activities. Additionally, you will be required to review high-risk babies in the post-natal ward, administer vaccines, conduct baby examinations, and collaborate with consultants on treatment plans and follow-up care. You will also be responsible for managing pediatric inpatient admissions, including examinations, prescriptions, daily progress documentation, and procedures such as IV cannulation. During out-of-hours shifts, you will collaborate with the consultant on call to discuss treatment plans and attend to outpatient calls and emergencies promptly. The role requires a qualified candidate with an MBBS degree and MD/DNB/DCH (Fellowship - Neonatal) qualification, along with 2-4 years of relevant experience. This is a full-time, permanent position with a rotational shift schedule. The ideal candidate should have a total of 2 years of work experience in a similar role.
