Jr Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• It is responsible for designing and delivering web apps, from layout to function and according to the business specifications.
• The individual will be responsible for integrating data from various back-end services and databases.
• The role would entail building front-end Website architecture, improving user interactions on Web, and developing necessary back-end applications
• Given the growing demand for mobile apps, the individual will also be expected to support cross-platform optimization of the designed applications
• At Chubb, we believe in developing reusable assets. The individual should look to develop assets that can be replicated and reused for various requirements across the business
• As a developer, he/she will be involved in the project from conception to deployment
• API creation and enhancement are some of the additional responsibilities
• He/she will be expected to stay abreast of any advancement in the programming and Web application development space

Required knowledge, Skills and qualifications

• Overall 1-2 years of Web/App development using Mendix or any RAD tool.
• Experience with API /Microservice architecture (REST,JSON,XML)
• Experience with Front-end languages such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
• Strong knowledge of building Microflows/Nanoflows in Mendix 8x/9x/10x
• Development experience with JAVA would be preferrable.
• Experience in Data modelling and structures
• Strong Analytical and Problem solving skills
• In addition, the individual should have the following
• Able to work under tight deadlines
• Should be flexible to accommodate business requirements and work requests from different time zones
• Excellent communication skills. The position requires constant interaction with stakeholders across the company.
• Knowledge of insurance domain would be an added advantage
