Jr / Database Administrator(MariaDB)

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of database management principles, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience working with MariaDB. As a Junior DBA / DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, availability, and performance of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain MariaDB database instances in both development and production environments.
• Perform regular database backups and implement disaster recovery strategies to ensure data protection and availability.
• Monitor database performance and optimize SQL queries for improved efficiency and performance.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution to ensure minimal downtime.
• Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support application deployments and ensure database compatibility.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices to continuously improve our database infrastructure.
• Configure and manage database replication setups, including Master-Slave and Multi-Master architectures, to ensure data redundancy and high availability.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on MariaDB or MySQL.
• Strong understanding of database management principles, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with MariaDB installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in SQL and the ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning tools.
• Solid understanding of database security concepts and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot database-related issues effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in database administration (e.g., MariaDB Certified Database Administrator).
• Familiarity with other database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Experience with database automation and scripting using tools.
• Knowledge of high availability and clustering solutions for MariaDB like Galera Cluster.
