De Forensische Psychiatrische Afdeling (FPA) in Den Haag biedt klinisch verblijf en behandeling aan forensische psychiatrische patiënten met een strafrechtelijke titel of dreigen in aanraking te komen met justitie. De FPA Den Haag bestaat uit 6 units waarvan een FHIC-afdeling (High intensive Care), een opname afdeling en 4 behandelafdelingen. Na een optimale behandeling kan de patiënt uitstromen. De gemiddelde verblijfsduur ligt tussen zes maanden en een jaar. Als psycholoog sta je stevig in je schoenen en ben je altijd op zoek naar manieren om aansluiting te vinden met je patiënt.
