Design new engineering products and processes, analyze prototype data and retest if needed, Research new product ideas and methods Improve existing products and processes, find creative design solutions to problems, Maintain accurate records. Meeting with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements. Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals. Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices. Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems. · Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines, including Cnc Mills, Drill Presses, Saws, Planer, Sanders, MIG, TIG, ARC and Acetylene Welding, Burn Out and EDM · Use all machinist and pattern maker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skilfully. · Fabricate, assemble, construct and repair metal or wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes and dies from prints, sketches or templates. · Construct, calibrate, or set gauges and precision measuring instruments. · Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .0001. · Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition. · Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor. · Requires a minimum of instruction and supervision.
