Job Title: Welding Supervisor Qualifications: Diploma / BE Mechanical / Production / Fabrication / Welding or relevant degree Experience Required: For Diploma holders : 6 to 10 years | For Degree Holders : 4 to 7 years Job Location: Lonand, Satara Job Summary We are seeking a practical, safety-focused Welding Supervisor to lead welding and fabrication activities from heavy equipment manufacturing industry. The Welding Supervisor will ensure production targets, quality standards, safety, TPM and EMS practices are achieved while coaching and developing the welding team. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of WPS, PQR & WPQs and obtain client approvals. Ensure all welding processes, consumables, and equipment are used strictly as per approved WPS. Maintain accurate records of consumable usage, weld traceability, shift logs, and non-compliances. Supervise daily welding and fabrication operations as per documented procedures, work instructions, and engineering drawings. Ensure production milestones, quality, and timelines are met within budget constraints. Coordinate with planning, materials, and machine shop for uninterrupted workflow. Monitor weld quality, identify defects, and ensure corrective actions. Coordinate with internal/external inspectors and support NDT activities (UT/RT/PT/MPI). Collaborate with QA/Engineering to address weld defects and implement improvements. Enforce company safety policies and legal regulations on the shop floor. Conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe handling of gas cylinders, welding stations, and consumables. Manage safety of personnel and equipment within the assigned area. Supervise and mentor welders to ensure adherence to procedures and best practices. Provide on-the-job training in safe work practices, welding techniques, and productivity improvement. Track team performance and report results to management. Experience implementing TPM, 5S and continuous improvement tools within welding section (Kaizen, PDCA, root cause analysis). Drive initiatives in 5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, and waste management. Enhance housekeeping, safety, and efficiency on the shop floor. Required Qualifications & Experience Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Automobile or BE (Mechanical/Manufacturing) mandatory. Minimum 4 years experience in heavy equipment manufacturing or machine building with hands-on welding/fabrication experience. Experience with welding codes and standards relevant to the region or industry (e.g., AWS, ISO) is preferred. Strong practical knowledge of manufacturing process, welding techniques, fixtures, jigs, and weld consumables. Good leadership and communication skills; ability to drive teams on the shop floor.
