Hospital Housekeeping Duties and Responsibilities Regularly clean patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, administrative offices, laboratory areas, waiting areas, and restrooms Utilize appropriate cleaning agents to prevent the spread of infection and comply with health and safety regulations. Properly collect, transport, and dispose of waste and biohazard materials in accordance with hospital guidelines and regulations. Replenish items such as hand soap, sanitizer, paper towels, and toilet tissue to maintain an adequate supply throughout the hospital. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors to keep them in clean and safe condition. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to maintain a professional appearance and prevent the buildup of dirt and germs.
