Job Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled CNC Retrofitter who can independently handle complete retrofitting, installation, wiring, programming, and mechanical refurbishment of old CNC machines. The ideal candidate should be capable of transforming outdated CNC machines into fully functional, modernized units by upgrading controllers, drive systems, wiring, software, and mechanical components. Key Responsibilities: Complete electrical wiring and panel work for CNC machine retrofitting. Installation and configuration of CNC controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.). Replace or upgrade motors, drives, encoders, PLCs, and HMIs. Perform all required mechanical repairs, including ball screw replacement, guideways, bearings, and alignment. Reprogram the system as per updated requirements – knowledge of G-code and M-code essential. Troubleshoot, test, and calibrate machines post-retrofitting. Provide technical documentation for all retrofitted machines. Coordinate with the in-house or external teams for parts procurement and system integration. Ensure all work is done within safety standards and quality parameters. Qualifications & Skills Required: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or related field. Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in CNC machine retrofitting. Strong knowledge of CNC systems, servo motors, VFDs, PLC programming, and mechanical alignment. Experience with controllers like Fanuc, Siemens, Delta, Mitsubishi, Fagor, or equivalent. Must be able to read and understand electrical, electronic, and mechanical drawings. Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project execution skills. Ability to work independently and handle complete retrofit projects end-to-end. Preferred Candidate Traits: Detail-oriented and quality-focused. Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines. Open to traveling for machine retrofitting work, if required. Strong team collaboration and communication skills.
