Notice Period: Immediate to 15 Days Job Title: Production Floor Supervisor - Chemical Plant Note: Candidates should have atleast 2 years in production experience from the Pharma industry(preferable). Job Summary: The Production Floor Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the production floor in the chemical plant. This role includes supervising production staff, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, troubleshooting process issues, and optimizing production efficiency. Key Responsibilities: 1. Supervision and Leadership: Oversee and coordinate the activities of production floor staff, including operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel. Provide training and development for production staff to enhance their skills and performance. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. 2. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards on the production floor. 3. Production Management: Plan, schedule, and oversee production activities to meet production targets and deadlines. Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to ensure efficient operations. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. 4. Quality Control: Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications. Implement and maintain quality control procedures and processes. Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions. 5. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to upgrade equipment and optimize production processes. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to drive continuous improvement. 6. Inventory and Resource Management: Manage inventory of raw materials, chemicals, and supplies to ensure availability for production needs. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain adequate stock levels. Optimize the use of resources to minimize waste and reduce costs. 7. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production volumes, downtime, and quality issues. Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance, safety incidents, and other relevant metrics. Ensure compliance with regulatory documentation and reporting requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. (Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.) Proven experience in a supervisory role within a chemical plant or related manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of chemical plant operations, safety regulations, and quality control standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on the production floor. Proficiency in using production management software and tools. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Working Conditions: The role requires working in a chemical plant environment, which may involve exposure to hazardous materials and conditions. The position may require working shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuous production operations. The supervisor may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow strict safety protocols.
