Oversee die changeovers, startup, shutdown, and ensure proper die setting as per standard parameters. Monitor and optimize machine parameters to improve quality and reduce defects like porosity, cold shut, misrun, etc. Ensure proper functioning of peripheral systems like shot sleeves, goosenecks, temperature controllers, chill vents, and ejector systems. Troubleshoot process and equipment-related problems in real-time to minimize downtime. Maintain documentation such as machine logs, quality check sheets, and process records. Coordinate with maintenance and die maintenance teams for PM (Preventive Maintenance) and TPM activities. Identify areas for cycle time reduction, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement, and cost control. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environment standards, and 5S practices in the die casting area. Train and guide operators and junior engineers in die casting techniques and best practices.
