JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PIPING LAYOUT ENGINEER Job Title: Piping Layout Engineer Job Summary: The Piping Layout Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing efficient piping systems for various oil and gas projects. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that piping layouts meet project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and design piping layouts for oil and gas facilities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. - Collaborate with project managers, process engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and integrate piping systems into overall project designs. - Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions and gather data for design purposes. - Utilize 3D modeling software (such as AutoCAD, PDMS, or SmartPlant 3D) to create detailed piping layouts and isometric drawings. - Perform stress analysis and flexibility studies to ensure the integrity and safety of piping systems. - Review and approve piping material specifications and procurement documents. - Coordinate with construction teams to provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases. - Identify and resolve design issues and discrepancies in a timely manner. - Ensure that all designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including ASME, API, and OSHA. - Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to project stakeholders. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum of 7 years of experience in piping design and layout within the oil and gas industry. - Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, or SmartPlant 3D. - Strong understanding of piping materials, specifications, and industry standards. - Experience with stress analysis and flexibility studies. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with offshore and onshore oil and gas projects. - Familiarity with international codes and standards.
